CASSIN press release:
„With wonderful sun and 2600 competitors, the Melloblocco 2014 was an awesome event, a unique climbing festival in the Masino valley rock paradise. C.A.M.P. athlete Stefano Ghisolfi climbed 6 of the 9 boulders with prizes and he got the first place as he did last year. Remarkable performance also by C.A.M.P. designer Andrea Ratti who was able to complete 5 boulders. Giada Zampa climbed 6 boulders and achieved an excellent result in the women category.
Our games got great success too. More than 400 competitors participated to the popular “Guess how many!”, trying to calculate how many points of crampons were inside the plexiglass tube. The game was very exciting and won by Davide Della Mora: he said 1594 points that was only 2 more than the exact number (1592). Ilaria Pina and Gloria Binda said 1588 and 1586 points gaining the 2nd and 3rd place. Davide, Ilaria and Gloria received respectively a Protection Jacket, a Roxback pack and a Jasper CR 3 harness.
The CASSIN boulder (the famous “Goldrake”, 6B+, close to Sasso Remenno) was climbed by 56 athletes including Federico Lora: he is the lucky winner of a climbing day in Mello’s Valley with Ottavio Fazzini, who completed several extreme new routes in Masino-Bregaglia. As announced, photographer Riky Felderer will make a complete shooting of the climb.“
