Art. 1 – General Information about Melloblocco
Melloblocco is an international bouldering gathering held in a natural environment with the aim of promoting bouldering and climbing on rock faces, respect for nature and the environment, and raising awareness of the Val Masino area, within the broader context of the Morbegno district and the Valtellina region (Province of Sondrio).
The event is scheduled to take place in the municipality of Val Masino from May 6 to May 9, 2026.
Art. 2 – General Event Overview
The sport activity of Melloblocco takes place in a natural environment and involves climbing on rocks known as "boulders", to be climbed without the use of ropes. The organizers provide a map with a non-exclusive proposal of areas and boulders suitable for climbing. Participants are free to climb outside the proposed areas, which are not fenced.
A limited number of boulders, part of a prize circuit with an equal number for men and women, are specifically marked on the map provided in each participant's event bag. Each boulder is marked with signage indicating its name.
For prize boulders, participants must self-certify the "ascent" of the boulder via video, to be sent via WhatsApp to the number indicated on the map or shown directly to the official judge during specified hours, also provided on the map. The videos will be reviewed by a judge who will verify and validate the ascent and register the climb. The prize for each boulder will be shared among all participants who successfully completed it. Participants have an unlimited number of attempts to climb the prize boulders within the designated timeframe.
During the event, lists of participants who have completed prize boulders will be published, categorized by gender. Those with the highest number of successful climbs will be recognized on stage during the award and closing ceremony on Saturday, May 10, in the late afternoon at the Melloblocco Village.
Art. 3 – Informed Participation
Each participant takes part in Melloblocco knowingly and at their own risk, as a spontaneous and independent personal excursion, without any privileges over other climbers who may be in the area.
Each participant must assess their own physical preparation, athletic ability, and adaptability to weather conditions during the event. By registering, each participant makes an informed and conscious decision, waiving the organizers of any responsibility.
Art. 4 – Registration
Online registration is available at www.melloblocco.it
Online registration closes at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Registration is complete upon payment of the participation fee. Once registered, each participant receives a confirmation email with access to their reserved area.
Payment is processed through the Stripe platform, which accepts major credit, debit, and prepaid cards. It is also possible to register onsite during the event by going to the registration desk at the Melloblocco Village (in Val Masino) during the hours listed in the event program.
The registration fee is € 25.00.
Registration includes access to the event and related services, including the event bag (to be collected at the Melloblocco stand), which contains: the 2026 edition t-shirt, bouldering area map, and sponsor gadgets. Event bags are limited to 2,500 units.
Art. 5 – Safety and Equipment
Melloblocco is based on the principle of awareness of one’s abilities and limitations, and the self-protection typical of the climbing discipline.
However, participants must bring and use a crash pad to place under the boulder to help absorb impacts in case of falls.
In certain conditions (e.g., bad weather), the event organizers may choose to restrict access to one or more prize boulders if deemed unsafe.
At registration, participants must sign a waiver releasing the organizers from liability. For minors, this must be signed by a parent or guardian and accompanied by a copy of their ID.
Art. 6 – Insurance
Participants must take out their own personal accident insurance policy to cover any incidents that may occur.
Art. 7 – Medical Assistance
The organizers, via the GAMES AREU platform of the Lombardy Region, will request medical coverage from AREU and the Italian Red Cross (Morbegno branch). A permanent medical station (ambulance) will be located at the Melloblocco Village with trained staff, supported by the Alpine Rescue team (Val Masino section). In case of emergency during the event, participants should call the national emergency number 112.
Art. 8 – Code of Conduct
Registered participants must check in at the info point set up at the designated event meeting area to confirm their presence, sign the waiver, and collect their event bag.
Participants do not receive any privileges over non-registered climbers, except for the event bag and participation in the prize boulder circuit.
Participants agree to respect others, the natural and historical heritage, flora and fauna. Civil and respectful behavior is expected. Littering or damaging nature is strictly prohibited.
Art. 9 – Withdrawal and Refunds
Refunds will only be granted in cases of illness, hospitalization, or injury, upon presentation of appropriate medical documentation signed by a doctor, to be sent to info@melloblocco.it by May 11, 2026.
No other refund requests will be accepted. Event bags will not be shipped.
If registered participants do not attend, they may collect their bag by emailing info@melloblocco.it and picking it up at the Val Masino info point on weekends in May and June, and daily from July 1 to August 31, between 9 AM and 12 PM.
Art. 10 – Event Cancellation
In case of bad weather, the program may be significantly modified but the event will not be canceled, as it includes both outdoor and village activities. No refunds will be given due to weather.
If the event is canceled due to force majeure or official ordinances outside the organizers’ control, or in case of non-participation, no refunds will be provided.
The organizers reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the event at any time.
